Modern History Department

• We document the political and public life in the region from the middle of the 19th century up to the present.
• We keep extending the collections to the department’s concept (especially by objects of technical nature and those of common daily use).
• The following are the subjects of our interest: historical iconography of the region, church history and holy monuments, castellology, regional personalities, industrial and sports history of the region.
• We process professionally and digitize historical photographic and film materials.
• We present our collection items and historical research in the form of exhibitions, lectures, articles and publications.
• We are members of various advisory and expert commissions and foundations.
• We ensure professional guided tours of the Museum of Religious Art of Pilsen Diocese.
• We assist in the production of tourist promotional materials of Pilsen Region.
