Department of Rescue Archaeological Research

• We perform rescue archaeological research in the territory of Pilsen Region.
• We treat the finds (washing, gluing together, original shape reconstruction), make drawings and perform scientific evaluation.
• We present the information obtained to the public in the form of exhibitions, lectures and publications and keep an archive of reports on finds from the archaeological research in the territory of West and South Bohemia.
• We perform a systematic research of the landscape, ancient and medieval settlement, and documentation of immovable monuments.
• We provide a methodical and professional assistance to other archaeological establishments of Pilsen Region.
• We do not develop our own collections but hand over the finds from the archaeological research to the collections of the Prehistory and Ancient History Departments and to the regional museums.
